MOUNT DORA -- More than 400 participants have signed up for the Lake County Schools District-Wide Hiring Day, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Mount Dora High School, 700 N. Highland Street, Mount Dora.

While job-seekers have been urged to register in advance, on-site registration for this free event will be available as well.

Participants are advised to bring a resume and dress professionally. One-on-one interviews will be held, and some participants may be offered a job on the spot!

The district is looking to hire up to 100 instructors, including elementary, special education, English language arts, science and math teachers, along with certified school counselors, school bus drivers, custodial and maintenance workers, and classroom support staff.

Lake County Schools, the 18th largest district in the state, serves about 43,000 students. The A-rated district offers a full list of benefits, including supplemental pay for advanced degrees and Title I schools, generous paid time off, primary health care services and some generic medications at no cost to covered employees, and life insurance for full-time employees at no cost.

Additionally, all new bus drivers who need to complete the state licensing requirements are offered a paid CDL training program as an incentive for joining the district.
