Leaders at Grassy Lake Elementary School in Minneola recently invited families to support Assistant Principal Tamara McCray, whose loved ones in Jamaica were deeply affected by Hurricane Melissa. The community responded with an outpouring of care. Over the donation period, boxes quickly filled with essential items — clothing, food, toiletries, generators, and more. Every contribution, whether big or small, became a meaningful gift for families recovering from the storm’s impact.

During the school's Packing and Shipping Day, volunteers came together to organize, sort, and prepare everything for delivery. After hours of dedicated work, they filled three large shipping boxes and sent over $10,000 worth of supplies to families in need!

These packages brought encouragement, comfort, and hope to those who are still rebuilding their lives. This kindness will be felt far beyond the school community.

Thank you to all who gave and showed what compassion, unity, and generosity can accomplish!
