Tavares High School is proud to announce its authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Career-related Programme (IBCP) school, expanding its commitment to providing students with world-class educational opportunities.

The new program will complement the school's existing International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), creating additional pathways for students to pursue academic excellence while preparing for future careers.

Beginning with the rising junior class, students will have the opportunity to enroll in the IB Career-related Programme through three initial career pathways:

  • Culinary Arts,

  • Promotional Design, and

  • Performing Arts

Additional career pathways are planned for implementation during the 2027-28 school year, further expanding opportunities for students to connect their academic studies with career interests and real-world experiences.

The IB Career-related Programme is designed for students who wish to engage in career-focused learning while benefiting from the international-mindedness, academic rigor, and personal development that are hallmarks of an IB education. Students participating in the program will complete career-related coursework alongside selected IB courses, developing the skills, knowledge, and global perspective needed for success in college, careers, and life.

"This authorization represents an exciting milestone for Tavares High School," said Dr. Stacy Keaveny, principal of Tavares High School. "The IB Career-related Programme allows us to provide students with meaningful opportunities to pursue their passions while maintaining the high academic standards and global focus that define an IB education. We are excited to offer these pathways and look forward to expanding the program in the coming years."

Parents and students interested in learning more about the IB Career-related Programme, and the career pathways available at Tavares High School, are encouraged to visit the school's website for detailed program information, or contact their school counselor or IB coordinator.
